Meet the Indigo Assessment team

Joy is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with 13 years' experience in consultancy and an impressive track record in improving the fit between jobs and people.

Joy's extensive technical expertise includes end-to-end assessment design, competency development, assessment / development centres, 360 feedback, coaching and teambuilding. Joy is particularly known as an assessment / development centre design guru and is a specialist in developing simulation exercises. Joy is accredited in an unusually large selection of psychometrics and is also a Business Practitioner in NLP holding a Post Graduate Certificate in coaching.

Prior to working with Indigo Assessment Solutions, Joy worked for Business Psychology firms SHL and Interactive Skills. Her wide-ranging consultancy experience has covered the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, from junior admin to Board level. She is an active member of the profession having presented at various conferences and is a British Psychological Society Chartership Supervisor for Practitioners-in-Training.

Joy is a Chartered Psychologist having gained her psychology degree from the University of Reading and her Master's degree from The University of Nottingham.

Throughout my career I've always recognised the assessments I carry out have a huge impact on the lives of the people I assess. I enjoy creating an environment for a candidate which is relaxed and friendly and where they can be themselves. This helps them to showcase what they can do and helps organisations to get a better understanding of their capabilities.

I'm really passionate about providing accurate assessments that help individuals and organisations make the best quality decisions regarding career progression and development. Getting that balance of achieving pragmatic quality solutions based on my in depth experience of assessment technology is what it's all about for me.

The area of assessment has always been shrouded in mystery which can be frustrating for clients. I believe that there are easier ways to do things and that's what we aim for at Indigo Assessment.

I've always enjoyed being able to adapt my approach to assessment to suit the needs of a particular client or project. I think the key to making an assessment work really well is to keep things practical and straightforward. Clients and candidates both appreciate that.

I love getting 'under the skin' of candidates - really understanding 'what makes them tick' and the extent to which that matches what my client is looking for. Using objective assessment techniques helps me ensure that I make accurate judgements so that we get the right fit of candidate to job.

For me, it's really about the evaluation of risk and the bottom line.
